The Golden Buddha of Wat Phra Yao is considered one of the most elegant of the Golden Buddha's with a perfect combination of slender body, wide shoulder, oval face, arched eyebrows, a long slender nose and a gentle smiling expression of serenity and compassion.
The downward cast eyes give the Buddha a placid appearance and a flame emits from the top of the Ushnisha (the prominent bump on top of the Buddha's head).
The Golden Buddha, in typical sitting position, displays the gesture of Meditation and Measures 110 cm across the lap and is 170 cm Tall. Unlike the Golden Buddha's of the Sukothai period, it sits on a doubled lotus in bloom.

The Golden Buddha of Wat Phra Yao is also one of the least well known of the Golden Buddha, even to the SaraBuri locals. It reflects the prosperity and devotion of the royal city of Ayutthaya some 500 years ago and like the other legacy of the period, the Phra Phuttha Bat (Buddha's Footprint), the Golden Buddha reminds us that the Ayutthaya and Saraburi region continues to be a centre for traditional Buddhist devotion and culture.
